How it works

From a moment to a look you can act on.

Eight steps turn a simple request into a complete, confirmed outcome. We'll follow one example the whole way through:

“I have a family dinner on Saturday. I want something relaxed but polished, under $200, and I'd like to try it on first.”

  1. 1

    Capture intent

What is the customer trying to accomplish?

The shopper describes a moment in their own words, or picks one: work, dinner, travel, the weekend, a special occasion.

    In our example

A family dinner, this Saturday. Relaxed but polished. Under $200. Try on first.

    Why it matters

The request is a whole situation with constraints, not a keyword.

  2. 2

    Understand context

What do we know, and what are we allowed to use?

With the shopper's consent, StileSense considers relevant context such as sizes, preferences, loyalty status and what they already own.

    In our example

Her usual sizes, a preference for warm neutrals, and the navy trousers she bought in spring.

    Why it matters

Personal, but only within the permissions she has given.

  3. 3

    Curate the look

What complete outfit fits the moment?

StileSense puts together coordinated looks from product relationships, brand guidance and merchant rules, and explains why they work.

    In our example

An oat cable knit, tailored trousers, cognac loafers and a small berry bag.

    Why it matters

A complete answer instead of four separate searches.

  4. 4

    Confirm commerce

    Can we confidently offer it?

Before anything is presented as ready, the retailer's own systems confirm product, price, promotion and availability.

    In our example

All four pieces are in her size at her nearby store, and the loyalty discount applies.

    Why it matters

Trust. The shopper never falls for something that isn't really there.

  5. 5

    Visualise & refine

    Does it feel right?

The shopper sees the look together, gets fit guidance, and can swap pieces or ask for alternatives.

    In our example

“Lots of walking” makes StileSense suggest cushioned loafers instead.

    Why it matters

Confidence before commitment means fewer returns.

  6. 6

    Choose the action

What happens next? The shopper decides.

Add the whole look in one step, save it for later, reserve it to try on, or keep refining.

    In our example

She reserves a fitting room for Friday at 5pm.

    Why it matters

One intent, many valid paths. All of them in her control.

  7. 7

    Fulfil the promise

What's the best way to deliver?

In-store pickup, same-day delivery, ship to home, or finding the item elsewhere in the network. The store team can prepare ahead.

    In our example

A store associate is notified and has the look waiting in her size when she arrives.

    Why it matters

Digital intent follows the customer into the store.

  8. 8

    Learn & remember

How can the next moment be even better?

What was loved, kept, swapped or returned improves future recommendations, and purchases join the shopper's digital closet.

    In our example

She keeps the knit and trousers. Next time: “What goes with my oat knit?”

    Why it matters

Each moment builds a relationship, not just a transaction.
